ShineCam

When you invite one or more friends to view your webcam, you can try to impress them with an effect or two. Certain webcams come with special applications, designed specifically for this task, but if you want more effects and better control over your webcam, you can use ShineCam. It offers a wide variety of interesting features, which are very easy to understand for all users, regardless of age or experience.

The application comes in Free and Pro versions. If you opt for the Free edition, you will not encounter any restrictions, nag screens or annoying reminders, but you will not be able to download new effects. To install the software on your computer, you will have to go through a number of basic settings. The wizard will install an additional driver, but this will not slow you down in any way.

Your webcam's feed is displayed in the central region of the interface and you can adjust its brightness, contrast or colors with different sliders, located on the right side of the window. The software gives you the possibility of using different sources, as a live feed, such as video files, images and snapshots or other virtual camera applications. In addition, ShineCam lets you broadcast a live feed of your desktop and it provides options for picture in picture as well.

The options for selecting different sources can be replaced with effects options by clicking a button, above the camera's feed. The available effects are neatly categorized, in a collapsible structure, on the left side of the interface. You can apply various filters, to make your feed look like an old movie, a pencil drawing and so on, add lights, frames, draw directly on the feed and much more.

You can also find a series of effects for your face. Large, colored eyes, eyebrows, hats or masks are just a few examples. Placing text or dialog balloons on your feed is another possibility. Additionally, you can insert a digital or analog clock, with the current time and date, in different formats. The applied effects are listed next to the camera's feed and you can just click one to remove it.
